STUDIO POLICIES
Notice of cancelation with a valid reason must be received 24 hours prior to your lesson. Valid reasons include a planned vacation, doctor appointment, religious holiday or an unavoidable conflict with school or sports activities. Lack of practice is NOT an acceptable excuse for skipping your lesson! Canceling the same day is considered a missed lesson except in the case of sudden illness or family emergency. Forgetting your lesson is considered a missed lesson; depending on circumstances, I may elect to offer a courtesy makeup. Whenever possible, makeup lessons for approved absences should be scheduled within the same week. No makeup or credit will be given for a missed makeup.
If I cancel a lesson due to bad weather or personal need, you will receive a makeup lesson or a credit to your account. Tardiness: If you are running late, please call or text.
PAYMENTPayment is monthly and due by the first lesson of each month. Tuition not paid by the 15th of the month will have a 10% late fee added to the total due. My rates and payment options are shown on the Tuition page.
WITHDRAWAL
There are no registration fees or contracts, but I request two weeks' notice if withdrawing from enrollment so your spot may be filled. If you wait until the last lesson of the month to tell me you are withdrawing, I request payment for two weeks in lieu of advance notice. No refunds will be given for early withdrawal, so if you are "trying out" lessons, it's to your advantage to attend the full month.
REINSTATEMENT: Except for illness or relocation, reinstatement after an absence will be at my discretion. Failure to give notice or pay in lieu of notice will result in a reinstatement fee of 2 weeks' tuition.
MISCELLANEOUS
Auditions are not required, but I invite new students and their families to meet with me (at no charge) to get acquainted before signing up.
Transfers, or students returning after an absence, should be prepared to back up a level or two for review purposes.
Parents should inform me of any special needs their children may have: ADHD, behavioral issues, learning disabilities, etc. at the start of lessons.
Students are encouraged to practice 5 days per week for 20-30 minutes each session. As with a foreign language, repetition is the key to learning music. Without practice, there will be little progress. Your lesson time is NOT practice time!
